This is the continuation from the last post....
We took the metro to the Colosseo stop. The weather again was not on our side, it started to drizzle half an hour after we arrive. We decided not to enter the Colosseum (Palatine Hill and Roman Forum) as it costs about 18 Euros.
After lingering around for a while, we went to the Vatican. The Vatican City is the world's smallest state being around 110 acres.
Security is very tight; the normal guards will scan through your belongings to ensure you do not carry anything that will harm the pope (haha). Hubby who brought along his army knife had to 'throw' it into the bin.
It was almost 5pm when we arrived at the St. Peter's Square.
We then went into the St. Peter's Basilica. Entrance is free. You have to pay if you want to visit the Vatican museum, the tombs and the garden.
