First time in London...

I shall continue on my London trip today...

We were in London for a short while on the 13th May, and then back to London again on the 24th-25th May 2012 before flying back to Malaysia. The very short stop-over in London on the 13th was because we needed to catch the early morning flight from Gatwick to Santorini.

This was my first trip to London. Thanks to Air Asia X, we got the cheap flight (not zero fare, but still cheap) from Kuala Lumpur-London and back for 2 for RM39++ (including taxes, surcharges, seats, meals, luggage, insurance). We were supposed to land at Gatwick, but few months before the trip, Air Asia X suspended their flights to London. We were given a choice either to get a refund, select another destination or to wait for the alternative airline. To cut the long story short, we were upgraded to MAS for FREE! Wheeeee:) The downside was, we were landing at Heathrow instead of Gatwick. So, we had to find a way to get from Heathrow Airport to Gatwick Airport. We took the tube from Heathrow to Earls Court.

After arriving at Earls Court station, we took a walk to the bus stop to wait for the EasyBus. The weather was good, rather cold for me (comparing with Malaysia).

After the 13 hours flight

 Since we would only be in London for a night, we booked the Yotel at Gatwick Airport itself. I think that was the cheapest we could find, considering that this hotel is just inside Gatwick, so convenient! But mind you, the room is very very small! More on the Yotel here.

The room has purple lighting, and we had to climb up onto the bed. The bathroom is just opposite the bed, and you can see through it, which may not be one's liking especially if they are not sharing the room with their spouse. The good thing is, you can have free coffee and hot chocolate anytime you want. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get the cup of hot chocolate since we checked in about 9pm and all I wanted to do was SLEEP.

The next morning, we checked out at 4am to check in for our flight to Santorini.
