Italy is one of the most popular tourist destination and is a must-go if you are into monuments and sculptures. Of course there are more to Italy than that (think pizza, pasta, etc).
Just to give an account of the day we arrived in Rome.
We arrived at the Fiumicino Airport in the afternoon, and took the Terravision bus to Termini station.
Unlike Athens, I find Rome chaotic. There are too many people everywhere, in the metro and especially at the tourist sites.

There are 2 lines; Line 1 (Anagnina-Battistini) and Line 2 (Laurentina-Rebibbia). |
We booked a B&B called Angolo Romano which needed us to use Line 1 from Termini to Cipro stop. This B&B is
located a few hundred metres to from the St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican. The owner Gianfranco is a very warm and friendly chap, who is more than willing to give you directions from his B&B to all the famous sites. For 80 euro per night, this is one of the cheapest place you can get for a B&B. More information here.
** Note that there's additional city tax charged on top of the room rate. I think this is common for each city in Italy.

Our room, (Please don't mind the mess..haha). |
It was very cold at night back in May. The floor was so cold that I had to walk around in socks and cover myself with the blanket from head to toe.
