Nestle Greek Yoghurt

After coming back from Greece, I'm obsessed with almost everything Greek. We have tried making our own tzatziki sauce using strained yoghurt. Not bad, although it was time consuming.

Good news! Nestle has introduced Nestle Greek Yoghurt, which comes at RM 3.90 each. They boast of being low in fat, creamy and smooth but yet thick texture and contains protein and calcium.
They come in 3 flavours; strawberry, peach and natural.

Love love and love the picture of the blue and white Santorini domes!

These yoghurt contain chunks of real fruits, absolutely yummy! Personally, I prefer the strawberry yoghurt.

But since its' rather pricey compare to other yoghurts, I don't think I can have it everyday. But once in a while, should be okay to indulge. Besides I no longer have to make my own Greek yoghurt, since Nestle already has the natural version:)

Brownie's Journey to Penang

It's a week since we brought Brownie all the way from Alor Setar to Penang by car. Dan and I had been discussing how to bring him over since we knew he suffers from motion sickness. Initially we wanted to get him some pills to temporary knock him out, but then we thought it's risky (what if he doesn't wake up?)

To cut the story short, we prayed that he could take the journey and praise God he did!

We realized that he gets stressed and agitated in the car when Dan drives around town, but when we are on the highway he seems quite relax and calm.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures below.

Some of these were taken an hour before we left for Penang, while some in the car and the last one when we arrived at our house in Penang.

Caught him running...boy, he's swift!
Brownie loves my dad a lot...like to follow him wherever he goes
I'm sure Brownie misses this place, spacious garden to run around (and poo), monkeys and monitor lizards that are his constant 'threats'.

Ready to go..perhaps he thinks this is just another short trip
Bye bye everyone...I shall miss you:(
Trying to feel as comfy as possible in the car
New place (must be wondering why there's no green grass, and spacious land to run about)

Over the week, we managed to bring Brownie for evening and some night walks around the neighbourhood. One thing I noticed is that he seemed to be pretty interested in the auto-gate. We had to tie him (with a long chain) when we go off to work, and release him by evening. He looks forward to his daily walks.
The good thing about this new neighbourhood is that many houses have dogs, so we feel quite comfortable bringing Brownie for walks. Since we have no garden space at all, Brownie had no choice but to poo outside at the grasses along the sidewalk. But twice this week, he poo-ed near the auto-gate and I had to pick them up. Thank God for flexi working hours:)

Gotta hit the sack now. G'nite!

Monday's dinner: Spaghetti & Salad

After walking Brownie, we came back and started preparing dinner. With two chef's in the kitchen, we could settle everything within an hour.

The ingredients for the spaghetti: Garlic, Onions, Shitake mushrooms, Carrots, Ham (pork) and tomato paste (from can). Use Italian herbs and black pepper to add oomph to the sauce. Add salt and sugar to taste.

The final result:

Salad with thousand island dressing and parmesan

Simple dinner of Ikan Terubok Masin and Pea Sprouts (Tou Miao)

Our Sunday night dinner was simple fried ikan terubok masin (salted terubok fish) and stir-fry garlic pea sprouts. The salted terubok fish was given to us by mom-in-law few weeks ago.
In case you do not know, salted terubok is famous in Sarawak. Visitors usually carry back nicely packed salted terubok for their family and friends.

What do you do with salted terubok? Usually one fries the fish and eat them with rice. In our case, hubby fried the fish while I made a simple dip consisting of bird-eye chillies and garlic (both pounded), juice from 3 limes, kicap manis and sugar to taste.

We were told there's no need to remove the scales as after frying they become so crunchy and easily eaten.

Fried terubok fish
The 2nd dish I cooked was the stir-fried pea sprouts or called Tou Miao in Chinese.  I did not add any sauce, just some salt and sugar to taste, as well as some chilli flakes (our latest obsession).

That's all we had tonight. Come tomorrow, we will have spaghetti for dinner:)

Weissbrau German Bar & Bistro @ Straits Quay

We went to Straits Quay last Monday for dinner at Weissbrau German Bar & Bistro. It was both our first time having German food.

Waiting for our food....

We ordered German Pork Knuckles, Emmentaler and Mussel in pot.

The German pork knuckles came in huge portion, enough for 2 persons. The meat was crispy, the rosti (pan-fried potato with butter) and grilled vegetables were great too. Sauce was too little, perhaps it was supposed to be that way.  I had to eat the meat with chilli sauce (typical Malaysian, everything with chilli sauce).

Crispy German Pork Knuckles (RM 48)

I ordered the Emmentaler, which is actually smoked pork meat and emmenthal cheese. They were yummy but very salty. These came with mustard dip and 2 sides (spatzli and sauerkraut).

Emmentaler RM 38

We ordered the Mussels in pot 'Seaman Style' but it was terrible. I'm not sure whether it was supposed to be so fishy and yucky but after eating one mussel, I literally vowed never ever to touch mussels again. I did not snap any picture for this one. Yucks!

In conclusion, I still prefer Italian food anytime over German food as the latter is too salty.

Moving from one place to another...

After about 10 weekends of packing, loading and unloading, and driving back and forth from Penang-Alor Star, we've finally moved everything and ourselves into the new rented house at Sg. Ara.

I am a happy girl since now I see hubby everyday (except those days when he goes outstation).
We haven't brought Brownie here yet, so it's just the both of us for now.

The unpacking is almost done, just need to set-up some shelves, the desktop and the exercise machine. And two more fans to clean, clothes to iron and a store room to look into, some plumbing work to be done, and curtains to be hung.

Hopefully I can get some cooking done, as it has been like 2 months since I touched the WOK.

Will keep you posted about our new life here. now with hubs and Brownie here too:)
